Oprah: The 21-Day Vegan
By June 25, 09:56 AM
Starting a trend of her own, the widely praised talk show host Miss Oprah Winfrey decided to dive into the world of veganism. Her influence on women of America may no doubt drive all of the “I’m so unhealthy and overweight” ladies to try the diet for themselves. So, what was the almighty’s motivation to leave all animal byproducts, caffeine, and alcohol behind for 21 days? She wanted the chance to think about eating differently, eliminating toxins and allergens from her diet, as well as figuring out why she is so devotedly attached to certain types of food, like most of us are.
Her 21-day diet detox consisted of fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Although she was used to her morning coffee, by the end of her 21-day fruit-and-veggie fest she called the experience “enlightening”.
“This has been exactly what we intended: enlightening. I will forever be a more cautious and conscious eater. That's my commitment for now. To stay awakened,” Oprah stated on her blog.
The real question for our American girls, however, is whether or not this diet is for you. Of course, the healthier you go, the better you will have it. But the truth is that everyone’s body is different, although we all need the same nutrients to live healthy. I know Oprah is a powerful woman, but make sure to consult a registered physician or dietician before trying any diet to make sure you do what is best for you. In the end, it’s all about you.
