Intelligent Aesthetics Skincare

It’d be conceited to claim that my skin is pretty great, but it is – it’s clear, never shiny, and pretty smooth. The problem is, however, that it’s even more sensitive than a baby’s behind – it rejects all overly-scented soaps, breaks out from any concentrated face wash, and my cheeks occasionally become red, itchy, and blotchy from either cheek stubble or some product frequently used by American men (though I still haven’t figured out which). Consequently, I’m crazy protective of my face, considering the fact that it’s the only part of skin that I can’t hide under clothing if flawed. So when I heard about Intelligent Aesthetics, I volunteered myself for the job of testing out their skincare items – if they work on me, they’ll work on anybody.

Due to the aforementioned issue with sensitivity, I try to avoid things like facials, thick face washes, and other products that are so loaded down with ingredients that my pores cry out in asphyxiation. I mentioned these issues, and the company figured out what products would work best. The Refreshing Pore Cleanser is light and lathers easily – a good sign, as thicker products don’t spread as easily and have a better chance of clogging your pores. Made with natural ingredients (citrus, green tea, etc) and some awesome concoction called Synergy iE-6, I actually noticed a difference in my skin after the first use. I thought I was tricking myself into liking it, but a couple days of washing my face morning and night with this and following with the Oil Control Skin Primer (made with witch hazel, grapefruit, and lemon) had my skin not only glowing, but I had a significant reduction in those terrible, unavoidable pre-menstrual blemishes.

To treat former blemish scars and random spots, I decided to only use the Exfoliating Oatmeal Cleanser once or twice a week, lest my face conclude that I was getting too excited with my new products, and start to betray me again in retaliation. As it turns out, the oatmeal cleanser is just scrubby enough to lighten any annoying scars I’d been having trouble getting rid of, but not so harsh that my skin was suddenly two shades lighter by the end of the week.

In the end, I was really mostly grateful that the product worked out, because writing crappy reviews are never fun, but I was also incredibly excited to finally find a product that doesn’t make my stupid baby face cry. I’ll be pretty sad when it runs out, and I’ll probably flake on ordering any refills because I’d have to do it online and I’m busy, forgetful and lazy, but eventually I’ll probably embark upon some new product that trashes my skin, and I’ll come crawling back to the Intellesthetics site like a sucker. Hmph.
